Choosing Recipes and Creating Menus fo Your Kitchen Sessions
Children will create their own version of the story 'Compost Stew' by Mary McKenna Siddals. They must write a recipe for the perfect compost using rhyming language. These recipes could then be turned into a song, dance or drama performance. This is a great opportunity to get out and have a look at your school's compost bins to see what materials can go in and how they break down over time. Create Your Own Eden is a website which provides lots of useful information about composting that you could also share with your class. You may also like to check out the Garden section of the Garden to Table website for more composting activities.
