Development begins on Garden to Table at Wynyard Quarter

We recently had 22 cubic metres of Waiheke gravel delivered from our friends at Central Landscapes to the Garden to Table at Wynyard Quarter site, generously spread by a group of fabulous Parnell Rotary members.
We now have a third of the land (425 sq m) ready to be fenced and have 20 garden beds placed which the kids will be planting up in a few weeks' time.

Garden to Table Christchurch

We're very excited to announce that Garden to Table is now in Christchurch! A big welcome to Wainoni School who held their very first GTT session on Friday. The kids loved getting their hands into the dirt - planting winter herbs and veggies with the help of volunteers and garden specialist Jacqueline. Many thanks to the Laugesen Trust and Terra Viva Garden Centre for their support.

Plant Fair at Highwic April 20th

Garden to Table will be the official seller of organic vegetables and herbs at the inaugural Plant Fair to be held at Highwic House on April 20th. The proceeds will go towards the work of the Garden to Table Trust.
The seedlings will come from our partner Oakdale Oragnics and there will also be a selection of window sill herb pots for people to have at hand in their kitchens.

Your chance to see Garden to Table in action

If you have ever wanted to see the Garden to Table Programme in action we can provide the perfect opportunity. Our fundraising Kitchen Garden tour on Wednesday April 17th will visit East Tamaki Primary School or Dawson School, Meadowbank Primary School, Owairaka School and Edendale School to see inspirational school kitchens and gardens and watch the children growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing their own organic food. Travel will be aboard a luxury coach and delicious refreshments and a picnic lunch will be provided.
Seats are limited so please book early to guarantee a place.

\nAbout the Event
\nNew Zealand Historic Places Trust property Highwic in Newmarket, Auckland is to host an exciting new style of horticultural event within its grounds. This inaugural event brings together a selected group of small specialty growers and groups who will showcase all manner of special treasures - plants, bulbs, shrubs, trees, vegetables and flowers - all of real interest to keen gardeners and passionate plant collectors.
\nPlants for sale will all be suitable for growing in the Auckland climate and would-be purchasers will have a chance to speak first hand with a group of incredibly knowledgeable specialty growers. There will also be book signings, a great pop-up café for those seeking refreshment, a plant crèche and ample opportunity to view the beautiful gardens at Highwic while the fair runs from 8:30am - 3:30pm, for one day only.
\nEntrance to the Plant Fair will cost $10.00 per adult, children are free, and this also gives entry to Highwic, with all monies going directly to the New Zealand Historic Places Trust. This magnificent historic house celebrates its 150 anniversary this year.
