We very excited to be involved with Visa Wellington on a Plate this year!
Together with Lewis Road Creamery and Nairn Street Cottage, we are offering "A Taste of Old: Pioneer Cooking for Kids" on Saturday 13th 20th August, and Sunday 14th and 21st August.
How did old people cook without electricity? And where did food come from when there were no supermarkets? In this exciting and hands-on programme we will take a trip back in time and experience cooking as it used to be. At the beautiful Nairn Street Cottage, children will grind their own flour, make their own butter, pick herbs and edible flowers from the garden and then bake scones on an old coal range, before sitting down to share together.
If you are in the Wellington region, why not book in your children via the link below, for a fun morning of shaking, baking and eating! Suitable for ages 7-12 years.
