We are pleased to be able to share some of our Garden to Table gardening, cooking and education resources to support families during this lockdown period.
You can view recent posts and categories on the right of the screen.
All across NZ funding bodies are closing to new applications, corporates are putting a hold on their donations, and generous, individual donors have become our lifeline. Garden to Table doesn't receive any government funding, although our work, building resilience and life-skills in children, has never been more important.
We are making our resources freely available, but would be grateful for any donation you are able to provide to help us continue our work with over 16,000 primary school children each week. The Donate button is at the top of the screen.
Stay well and kia kaha.
Dig for Victory Education Unit
Monday, 6 April, 2020 | Linda Taylor
Tying in with Anzac Day celebrations and remembrance, this unit explores how vegetables influenced New Zealand’s war effort and why. Using photos and other
historical documents, students will explore what happened at home during World War Two and consider how that might have impacted on their lives
if it was today. Finally, students will plan and plant a Victory Garden of their own using a recycled container and look at how changing behaviour
and making individual sacrifices impacts on the greater good. Please click on the links below to work your way through the unit.
